Any of you guys out there remember when you were a kid and you had some cool new toys at home in your room, and you could hardly wait to get through the school day so you could get back home and play with them?
Nothing’s changed! Today we call it “work:” the hours are longer and the stakes are higher, but I still can hardly wait to get home to play with my new toys!
Here’s a look at some of the mess I’m making of the diorama as the piles of Hot Wheels and Matchboxes continue to stack up, since I’m buying them faster than I can sort them or find a place to display them!
Doin’ The Wheel Swap
Maybe there was never a dance called the Wheel Swap but maybe there should be! I remember busting tires on real cars when I was in my 30’s and it could get back breaking at times…not to mention I ruined more Levi’s that way! Today’s wheel swaps are a little easier on the back but still take some effort and skill, and here’s an example as I swap out a set of stock wheels for a set of aftermarket rubber “Real Rider” redlines on an early example of every gearhead’s fave Hot Wheels casting-or one of them, anyway!
Too many cool cars…I need a bigger diorama! Maybe it really is time to start working on that expansion I planned years ago!
I remember those days when I couldn’t get home to play with a new toy or listen to a new album that I loved! There sure are a lot of cool cars roaming Drag City! Love it!
