Arrogance and incompetence are a truly vile combination. I don’t know about you, race fans, but I’ve had enough! I try to give people-yes, even politicians-the benefit of the doubt, but after what the whole world has been through over the last year, I’m done! Every so called “expert” in the country and their adoring media handlers can kiss my White ass! You’re not “the best and the brightest,” you’re a bunch of incompetent, authoritarian goons! And that goes double for your Canadian counterparts!
And so, dear readers, your humble blogger is “coming out” as L.G.B.T … That’s right, I am now officially a member of the LET’S GO BRANDON TRIBE!
That became the namesake of the first full “64 Pack” muscle car tournament of the year! Held from Friday through Sunday Feb 18-20, The crowd was massive-one of the biggest in the history of the track-as thousands of spectators turned out to see the wild and dangerous road racing action: 64 of the most powerful cars ever made squared off for a 5 lap brawl, complete with hot dogs, ice cream, and fireworks!

The new resistance-switching controllers allowed a greater range of control over the track than ever before, which made the racing fast and furious, as there were fewer de-slots and crashes and fewer restarts than what we’ve been used too in the past! Not only was the action completely over the top, but the race was full of surprises! Some top performers were shut out in Heat 1, and some worthy racers that often are eliminated early on hung on and fought their way into the progressive elimination rounds.

The overall tournament winner was an underdog that last won a tournament way back in 1982 at Drag City Mk II! Hal “Jolt” Jacobsen brought “Grendel,” his Fathom Green L78 396-powered ’69 Camaro RS/SS into the winner’s circle, bearly beating an intense challenge from “The Final Countdown”, the Hemi-powered Dodge Polara 330 of David “Wild Thing” Wahlberg. Taking 3rd place was a ferocious competitor who also is up in the winner’s circle for the first time in years: Mike “Red Devil” Ryan looked like he was headed for the checkered flag in “Sinner,” his 390 powered AMC AMX 2-seater, but was clipped by thousandths of seconds in the final elimination round.

Drag City Raceway LLC is proud to present its video of the manic action!

Yes, you may be offended…life is like that sometimes!

Word to the truckers on both sides of the Northern border: thanks for all you do, guys; somehow we’ll get through this!
