Last Saturday I ran down to the toy room as always to watch an ep of Scooby Doo and do some racing and suddenly Scooby was nowhere to be found. Where did he go? Where did George Jetson go? Where’s Top Cat and his gang? Where are Tom & Jerry? Where’s Bugs Bunny???

Ohhhhh, I see! Another thing I’ve been paying a subscription for over the last several years has just been yanked away from me! I love it when they do that!
I suspect you’ve got a story of your own about something you thought you’d bought and paid for vaporizing one night when someone decided to change the rules despite your “subscription.” I’ll try not go on a rant about this “subscription sh**” and instead go on a rant about all my favorite Hannah Barbara cartoons and some of the WB classics as well just disappearing overnight! Yeah, they say “some of the content” will migrate to Max, except that it isn’t! Of the roughly 10 Scooby Doo iterations from 1969 to today, only 3 of them are available on Max! Of course, there’s also the little matter of Max costing TWICE per month what Boomerang cost!
And the rest? Well I can buy them outright, of course! Yeah, really? Only to have them disappear again? Nope; this time I’m gonna do what I should have done 4 years ago and just start buying the DVDs…all those that are available, that is! I think that’s what I’m going to do with all recorded entertainment that I want from now on!
Fortunately, we still have “Captain Cartoon” and Saturday Morning Serials, which I’ll be watching even more of now! I’ve plugged this channel before but I’m plugging it again because its really excellent and if you’re a fan of Saturday Morning Cartoons like I’m, you really oughta do yourself a favor and check it out!

My hide is pretty chapped, though! What am I gonna tell the bears when they ask where their favorite cartoons went?
I’m sorry to hear about that but I totally understand! If there is something that I really like, I always and whenever possible buy the DVD or if I can download it as file that I can keep. Someone once commented on my always having wanting the physical media but it is cases just like this or worse, situations like you had when your drive crashed. Scooby Doobie Do On!
