The Trans Am fleet is off to somewhat of a rough start because I can’t find the remaining 4 cars I want! As the Post-It notes in the empty slots of the case tell you, I’ve already decided which cars I want to round out my new fleet. The first one I was going to buy, which I used to see for sale all over the place and now can’t find anywhere, was the #98 Cougar as raced by Dan Gurney…
Then I started looking for the newest Auto World TA releases that were allegedly supposed to be hitting stores last month:

The plan is to add the #1 Jim Hall Camaro and the #6 Mark Donohue Camaro, but I haven’t been able to find hide nor hair of those either. Must have something to do with all these shortages and supply problems we’re having…all unavoidable, I’m sure, since this is allegedly all because of the the aftermath of that chinese virus, and has nothing to do with the gubmint printing trillions of dollars in free money , nooooo. So, there’s the first problem…
So, with a small cadre of only 8 cars, the 1st qualifying heat was held at the track on Sunday! Qualification is held against a 60 second clock and cars will match up during the first tournament based on the fastest lap time turned in during that 60 seconds. Here are what the results looked like, as shown on the jumbotron…

As expected the times are a bit slower than the highly customized Sportscar and Muscle Car fleets, as these cars are all running 100% stock. Even so, there was a clear standout: looks like “lucky #14”, the black ’68 Cougar, is going to be the car to beat!

Hopefully I can get at least a couple more cars before the first tournament!

I know you weren’t totally happy with the timing set up but sure hope what you have is still working ok for you!
