Forgive me, race fans, for another long period of silence, as the weight of work and life has been creeping up to “11” again. It will stay that way through at least the end of next week, but I do hope to get some racing in and some posts posted over this coming weekend between doing some needed 1:1 automotive wrenching and a good deal of yard work.
In hopes of keeping the fans coming back for more, consider this a quickie preview of coming attractions, as some great new hardware has arrived at Drag City that I hope to put to the test in the coming days, and then demo and review right here at thunderjetheaven.
THE SLOT DRAGON SD2 IS HERE!
Actually its been here for a week but I haven’t even had time to open the box until last night! This is the timing system I hope will replace my ailing Ninco Pole Position, which has gone on the blink twice more in the last couple of weeks (it’s either a short or an open-I can’t tell which-and I’m usually able to fix it with an adjustment to the wires, but I’m sure its only matter of time before it croaks for good). Once I have this replacement set up I will get out the soldering iron and see if I can implement a more permanent fix, but that will be just for the satisfaction of doing it, because look at this rig! The bench testing is already done, so I’ll be drilling this virgin piece of track tonight and should have it in service by no later than Saturday night, just in time for the next big Muscle Car Rumble!
THE TRACK EYE II™ IS HERE!
This is the new driver’s PoV camera that should give all us race fans a much more exciting view of the action on the track. It will ride around atop this torquey Tyco 440 X2 chassis…just as soon as I work out a way to mount it!
Once tested and up and running, we’ll have true “in car footage” for instant replays and some more of those bitchin’ HO scale music videos you love!
And if all that weren’t enough, the latest round of peeps are painted and more figures of fun will be joining the crowd! The more the merrier, eh?

Your getting some good equipment there and I really like the new camera. Are you finding any discrepancies in the times recorded by the two systems. The tree is a really cool feature and if only the two timing systems could be combined. I wish I was better at electronics! You are getting good with this stuff!
