I’m happy to say my very long-awaited order from Road Race Replicas has arrived, and included in this order-amongst many other goodies from this greatest of vendors-was a pack of their awesome pad-printed raise white letter silicone tires! I did a post on these a couple of years ago and here’s another example of how, no matter how good you think your HO scale muscle cars look, they can look even better! A good dozen of my cars went into the shop to get new shoes, either because their tires were worn to the point of affecting performance or because I just wanted an appearance upgrade, and here are the results!
About the only bad thing about these tires is that they are only available for the full-sized format; the low profile tires aren’t available with the sidewall printing, but for those cars that can accommodate the full-sized tires, these are a great upgrade!
These cars are now dressed up with nowhere to go, since my weekend activities of late are not allowing me time for running tournaments, which is why I’m using this month and the beginning of next for maintenance and upgrades before the next racing season kicks off. For the quality and looks these tires are surprisingly affordable, however their availbility is a “catch as catch can” prospect, since the proprietor of RRR makes them at home, so get while the getting is good if you want some for your cars!
You turn these great cars into something very special. They look fantastic and that must be a LOT of fun to create.
