Sunday was the end of Daylight Savings and thus the “Descent Into Darkness,” or the real beginning of winter. At least that’s how I see it. And as if to prove me right, the evening of Sunday Nov 3 was filled with a freezing rain which later turned into snow! How’s that for calling it right, dear readers?
That night I had a sudden and unexpected visit from one of my racing buddies. Shanon and I haven’t hung out as much lately as we used too due to demands from adulthood-covered profusely here-but I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to hit the track with a friend, so after a quick dinner grabbed at the local Popeye’s, we headed down to the track! Let the rain and the snow dampen moods outside: we’re at the track in CA running The Super Stocks!

Actually, it could have been raining at the track for all the deslots and crashes we had, but Shanon was anxious to try out his latest purchase, a steel blue ‘70 Dodge Challenger, and after a couple of my suble but still “stock legal” tricks, that car performed mighty well, beating me in half the races he ran against my own cars! Shanon is getting better and so are his cars, although I don’t mind saying that my T-Jet mechanicing skills have maybe just a wee bit of influence on that!

It was a short night-Shanon was on his way back home after heading out of Denver-but it was a fun one! Here’s a few quick snapshots and a vid of the action, showing that even with those “boring” stock wheels and chassis setups, there’s still a lot of fun to be had on a Tomy AFX track with Auto World T-Jets!
