Last Saturday was the conclusion of the “Summer Sports Frenzy” at Drag City, a stirring sports car race in a quick 5-lap, 3-strike “run what ya brung” format! All 64 of our sporting car heroes were there, including the 4 Trans Am series racers making their final appearance with the sports car fleet! The race was more competitive than some expected, with some serious battles on the track, especially the final battle! See the in-car footage from the Track Eye II camera as well as professional and spectator video of the action right here, as the competitors get down to business to the throbbing beat of a 1980’s New Wave classic!
Foreshadowed by his fast-lap trophy win at the Sports Car Enduro the previous May, the winner of the tournament was none other than Warwick “WOLF” Wagner in his Porsche 904 Carrera GTS “Ragnar.” Wagner barely edged out Mike “MUSCLES” Morelli in “Belladonna,” the #36 Ferrari 250GTO that made a strong showing for 2nd.
And wid dat, I’m now hanging up the video camera for a while; I’m looking into new hardware and methods for filming small, fast moving objects; until new methods are learned and new investments are made, this is the last racing video from Drag City.
