In spite of the lack of snow all year up to this point, all that was to change on New Year’s Eve when a big front moved in and dumped over 6 inches of snow on the metro Denver area within the span of roughly 12 hours. I awoke on New Year’s Day to a fresh winter wonderland, which was a great atmosphere to enjoy a quarantine holiday with my Bear Family!
Since the bear’s li’l pawses are far too clumsy to play with HO and 1:64 scale cars – they don’t have opposable thumbs, you see – I get them 1:43 scale cars, which are much easier for them to work with, and over the last year I have been slowly amassing quite a stash of these Atlas/Mattel Dinky reproductions in anticipation of just such an event as this! My bear boys got to open 13 new cars to add their collection, plus one that was a stocking stuffer from my brother that I brought back from AZ, making for that magic number of 14!
OK, so they’re not slot cars or diorama pieces, but dammit, they sure are cool!

These are some great models and additions to the collection! That Borgward is really cool and I’m completely unfamiliar with that but am going to find out about it!
