Mark II Descending :(

It almost brings a tear to my eye to look upon the barren table in my toy room that was once bustling with race-day activity. As of tonight, Drag City Mk II is no more; all the diorama elements have migrated out to the larger layout, leaving only the Matchbox garages and the Tyco track, the power unplugged. By the end of this weekend, the track will disassembled and re-boxed.

This hobby, in this room, sustained me during some of the darkest hours the nation has ever experienced, and it helped me through some personal difficulties layered on top of the Wuhan Flu panic-demic. I look at this as a new beginning rather than an end, and there’s every chance that Tyco track will rise again in the future. For now, I’m offering a final look back at some of the details of Mk II that were so fun to create, with an eye to creating new ones on my new, much larger layout.

R.I.P. DC Mk II: you will be missed. And so will you, Robert Aloysius Gafney. Always.
