Not all the new population is at the track! Having taken a spin through the in-field, let’s see what’s going on in with the new peeps in town…
At the Post Office at the end of the freeway offramp…
A well fed gentleman on the street corner watching the Cranberry Red Novas go by. What’s he up too, I wonder?
At Wardglenn General…
Ir probably goes without saying that the accident ward at the local hospital is the busiest in the area! Doctors and patients can see the action on the track right from the windows of the ward, which gives the hospital staff the advantage of often knowing when its time to spring into action and fire up the ambulances! At the entrance to the hospital, the gray marble steps become a meeting place for reconcilation, grief, and impatience as the loved ones of racers hospitalized with injuries wait on news of their conditions.
At the Fire Station…
Perhaps this is an “equipment/readiness test,” as the firefighter inside the firehouse is done up in full gear complete with an industrial extinguisher and air tank; the station’s big GMC “Snorkler” lurks right behind him.
While across the street at the bank…
Who is this character in the long dark coat sneaking around the back door of the 1st National Bank of Wardglenn?Uh oh…this doesn’t look good!Oblivious to danger only feet away, a motorist in an old Ford pick-up does his banking at the drive up window, while his bulldog waits patiently in the bed of the truck
Just outside the Pharmacy…
A helpful local gearhead looks at into resolving a vapor lock problem on this ’67 Malibu SS belonging to another local, a young man who was shooting hoops before discovering his baby had let him down.
At the Outlaw Garage…
An obviously stressed mechanic discusses the issues of a Ferrari 250LM with its owner
Down at the Drag-O-Way Motel…
Having finished her call in the phone booth, this red leather lady is now standing on the street corner lamp post. Surely she’s just waiting for someone…The phone booth to the side of the Drag City Diner, however, looks to be about to get use from a young man who has a distinct “I dindu nuffin” posture about him.The muscle-bound stud with the ’69 Barracuda now has an equally buff buddy to head to the track with…but who is just inside the open door of the motel room?It must be race day! Crowds walk from their parked cars through the lot to the ticket booth and entrance gate at the track, including an admirer who stops to check out the interior of a Shelby GT350-H

Lots of really cool things going on there and the figures are looking great. Love the dog in the back of the truck. Lots of really good peeps going about the business of keeping Drag City going!
