Aaaand here’s more cars, and more peeps too! Not a huge number, mind you; I have moved some things around because you want to keep things moving to keep things interesting! Some of the traffic is repositioned, and some of the figures too, and a couple of subtle new “tableaus” have been created here and there.
MORE PARKING! Drag City Diner is now busier than ever, more peeps at the grocery store including the recent addition of a late ’70s Mazda Wankel-engined pickup, and check out the burly dude getting out of the battered VW @ the hardware store who looks like he ran into an old friend who just happened to be hanging around at the lamp post! Isn’t that nice?
The principal change is an expansion of parking space for some of the businesses along Bear Valley Rd, in particular the diner, the grocery store, and the hardware store; all did some construction recently to expand their parking areas a little allowing for more customers and their cars!
New arrival at the old “Drag-O-Way” Motel, a ’63 Lincoln looking a little worse for wear has its trunk unloaded by a sullen young man while his iron-haired mother assesses the digs with disapproval. The shirtless muscle-bound dudes with the Barracuda haven’t checked out yetLEFT: Taking advantage of another Matchbox with an opening boot, here’s some additional customers at the “5 & 10” store loading some wares into their car RIGHT: while around the side of the store, a coverall-clad weekend mechanic attempts to cure what ails a Marina Blue ’67 Malibu SS while his friend sulks beside the car
Poor dude is really bummed about his car not starting. Maybe he should saunter across the street and say hi to the girl sitting on the newly installed bench outside the accident ward at Wardglenn General; she doesn’t seem too happy either.
New traffic on the road and at the track…
TOP LEFT: early 80’s Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser passing by the main parking lot for the track. TOP RIGHT: slammed Volvo Amazon wagon passes through town. ABOVE: Rover P6 sedan in racing gear is a new arrival in the paddock waiting for a qualifying run! All 3 of these additions are fairly recent “Premium” Hot Wheels with metal bases and “Real Rider” rubber tires.
At least one more very unusual vintage Die-Cast is in the mail and set to arrive soon to be added to the fun, so there’s even more to come!

What a great post and I love seeing these tableau’s you have created! I hope to create interesting scenes like this as I get more peeps. I’d like to have characters and scenes from some of my favorite horror movies. It’s funny you mentioned parking because that was something I was just lamenting about not planning for in my town but space is limited in the valley where Harrisonburg sits. Great job and I love these changes, new cars, and peeps!
