“TRACK or TREAT!” A Preview of Coming Attractions…

Well, Iet’s see here… I just added a couple of new cars to the diorama, a Matchbox and a Hot Wheels, which were both irresistible. I’ve had these sitting in packages in the toy room for a while and finally decided to de-package them and install peeps in them, since, as I’ve mentioned in the past, its always fun putting peeps into convertibles on the diorama: it adds a lot of realism to the layout, I think. So here are a couple of excellent new pieces: a “fathom blue” ’72 ‘Vette ‘vert, and a BRG ’70 Triumph TR6! Both awesome cars, if very different from one another!

Of course these are more spectators coming into the track’s parking lot, and that makes sense considering that one of DC’s biggest crowd draws of the year is right around the corner: the Muscle Car Monster’s Ball!

This event is always a crowd pleaser! And why not? The weather is perfect, there’s special fall food at the concessions like candied apples, spiced cider and roasted corn, and thousands of thundering horsepower on the track! Every muscle car racer around is invited to this gig and most attend, because what driver wouldn’t want to show off his car when the weather is sunny but cool, allowing for maximum air intake and maximum horsepower efficiency with minimized risk of overheating!

The cars are always in top form, the drivers usually are as well, and there’s plenty to look at around the track, as any and all spectators and staff alike are welcome to show up in costume! It turns into quite the spooky good time, and that it’s all so informal just makes it that much more fun! Don’t miss this event, race fans; all the details will be posted here toward the end of the month!

  1. The new additions look great and can’t blame you for wanting to add them. The figures really do look good in the cars. It adds a lot and will have to steal that idea!
