Just threw together this addition to the muscle car fleet, an easy build with minimal drama. This is an Aurora Model Motoring 1969 Poncho GTO. Note, however, that this is not “The Judge.” MM makes 2 versions of the ’69 GTO; the Judge has the appropriate rear deck wing and side stripes and a slightly more aggressive grille; this “plain” GTO is wingless. Still makes a great model, though, especially in Lime Green.

Pontiac never offered this color on the real thing, but a lot of other makers did, and its certainly accurate to the period! She’s finished with that style of wheel you just cannot go wrong with: the Vincent “Crager Sport” (aka the American Racing Enterprises Torque Thrust II, which is what they look like to me!) and low profile tires for ground hugging Ponti-action! She was fitted with a chassis that has a little mileage already but is still plenty strong to pull this big car around the track at potentially winning speed. This is a big, heavy car that isn’t the best at cornering, though, so we’ll see how she does in the coming weeks; some “mods” may be necessary to up her performance game!
