Last Saturday afternoon I fired up The Cylon and headed out to Parker to see Smile 2 with a friend (which had to be one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen! If you’re a horror fan, don’t miss it, but don’t dare watch it alone)! Since I was in the area, of course I just had to drop by Colorado Diecast!
I was primarily looking for a 2nd copy of the Matchbox ‘70 Javelin in “Big Bad Blue” and I was lucky to find one-the only one they had, since their Matchbox selection looked like it had been pretty well raided by the time I got there! But no gearhead and model car fan can walk into that store and buy just one thing!
I walked out poorer, but it didn’t seem all that bad considering my loot! So now there’s even more excitement coming to the Drag City Raceway diorama, but as I’ve mentioned, the diorama is getting crowded!
More cars is always good, but the only way to add more cars now is to start swapping some things out! So I had to go through the layout carefully and make an assessment about what I wanted to remove and put back in their cases in the toy room to make room for these new arrivals.
Here’s a look at the loot, and at what changes were made! Were these just changes, or improvements? You tell me, dear readers, and I’m open to suggestions!
- One correction to the video above: the ’86 Jeep is a Cherokee Wagoneer, NOT a Grand Cherokee…you’d think I’d have gotten that right, considering I not only know better, but the name is printed right there on the package! 😛
Wow, so much great stuff there and some accessories too. I love how they have the cars divided by make too. I just have to make my way there! I think you should get some more wall shelves for display room so you can still display and swap out cars. It would definitely be a tough choice but it’s a win win situation with the great new stuff you got!
