Sign, Sign, Everywhere A Sign…

I gotta admit, I’m just a little proud of how this came out…

And it was very easy to do! So, the typeface on the signs isn’t quite right; its close, but believe it or not there actually is a font called “Highway Gothic” that I unfortunately do not have. After experimenting with a few, I found the closest match was an old PC standby, Tahoma Bold. So, having established that, I slapped one of the Tyco US-1 signs on the scanner to pick up the size and color, brought it into P-shop, layered it, found the right images of the Interstate and CA state route logos, and, thanks to the $15,000 Xerox color printer at the office…

Having been a magazine production artist for 10 years probably helped me a little!

I could use a few more cars-because more cars is always good!-but for the most part, I’d say the freeway is DONE!

Now, on to looking for a good background flat for the wall!

  1. Mounted on those Tyco sign posts, it really makes it come alive! It’s amazing what some details like that can add to a layout!
